Viana family has always been in contact with passionate activities; adrenaline is part of its DNA. In the young years of Lauri Viana, the winery’s founder, car racing was part of her days. Years later, she visits Mendoza, falling in love with its natural potential, its rich soils and Uco Valley’s climate. In this way she starts exploring horticulture. Later, already professionalized in the sector, she finds a new passion, elaboration of high-end wines. This is why she decided to invest in a piece of land that she found remarkable for its local flora and privileged surroundings in Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo. This terroir became a perfect moor for growing grapes and the elaboration of high-end wines. Luján de Cuyo is considered the best place in the world for growing Malbec, Argentina’s flagship varietal.

This region can be known better by analyzing its different subzones. In the west are Vistalba and Las Compuertas, just on the north bank of Mendoza River, with plenty of old vineyards. Both zones are characterized by alluvial soils, rich in sand and stones from the Andes dragged by the river.
